SAP Crystal Server 2011 przedstawia nowe podejście do zarządzania i dzielenia się informacjami biznesowymi. Jest znacznie szybszy, łatwiejszy w użyciu i bardziej wszechstronny niż swój poprzednik w wersji 2008. Jest elastyczną i wydajną platformą do zarządzania raportami i kokpitami na platformie webowej. Ten kompletny system pozwala departamentom oraz małym i średnim przedsiębiorstwom na bezpieczne i efektywne wykonywanie raportów, przeglądanie, drukowanie, współdzielenie, harmonogramowanie oraz dostarczanie raportów i kokpitów poprzez e-mail, portale lub aplikacje MS Office. Oprogramowanie SAP Crystal Server to wysokiej jakości system raportujący o optymalnym stosunku ceny do oferowanych możliwości. System dedykowany jest dla małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw, może być traktowany jako gotowy portal raportujący do natychmiastowego wdrożenia lub też stać się platformą do budowy aplikacji dostosowanej do środowiska i potrzeb konkretnego użytkownika. SAP Crystal Server to również nowe podejście do kwestii licencyjnych. Kupując pakiet startowy klient otrzymuje licencje z dostępem dla 5 jednoczesnych lub nazwanych użytkowników oraz 12 miesięczną opiekę serwisową i dostęp do nowych wersji. W miarę rozwoju aplikacji/portalu istnieje możliwość rozszerzenia licencji do 250 licencji jednoczesnych i dodatkowo 100 licencji nazwanych.
